Concert Pianist Thriller At Evelyn’s Restaurant

first_imgEvelyn’s Restaurant is well known for its exquisite Liberian and international cuisine. Lately, however, it seems that there’s much more cooking up than food. The Sinkor joint is becoming a preferred spot for live musical events, and up next is no doubt, one of a kind. The Agape National Academy of Music (ANAM) is doing a benefit concert for the public featuring Liberian professionally trained concert pianist, Samson Tarpeh, who will serve as principal performer along with special guest musicians, including world class vocalists Ernie Bruce and Fulton Reeves and the ANAM’s Piano Ensemble (music with four and six hands).ANAM said in a release that the program will be held on Friday, December 18 at 7:30 p.m. at the new Evelyn’s Restaurant on Gibson Avenue, between 16th and 17th streets, in Sinkor.“The goal of the program is to raise funds to reopen ANAM, which had to close its doors due to the economic crisis created by the Ebola outbreak in 2014,” an ANAM release said. According to Sampon Tarpeh, Co-Founder and Executive Director of ANAM, tickets range from high US$100, patron US$50 and general US$10. Tickets can be purchased at the Evelyn’s Restaurant in Sinkor and can also be ordered by phone on 0888-937-036. About ANAMThe Agape National Academy of Music (ANAM) was established in June 2008 in recognition of the need to educate Liberians in the art of music and to contribute to the documentation and preservation of Liberian music. The Academy is the only active formal music education program in Liberia that is accredited by the Ministry of Education, and incorporated by Liberia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. ANAM is a non-profit organization guided by a Board of Directors. Fund raising is required to run the Academy and keep fees low for students. The Academy is being sustained by students’ fees and personal contributions by lovers of the arts. Most of ANAM’s students are sponsored by churches and individual lovers of the arts.
