Poco F1 vs Poco F1 Armoured Edition: What’s different and is it worth paying extra for Kevlar finish?

first_imgXiaomi Poco recently launched a new Armoured Edition of Poco F1, which comes packed with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage in India. The new Poco F1 variant is priced Rs 1,000 higher than the standard 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant of the phone. The Armoured Edition sells for Rs 23,999 while the standard 6GB RAM and 128GB model of Poco F1 sells for Rs 22,999 — after the recent price cut. So, the question here is, why is the Armoured Edition expensive than the regular variants of the Poco F1? What extra does it offer to the consumers? And is it worth paying Rs 1,000 extra for it?Overall, there is not much different between the two variants of the Poco F1, but still paying that extra Rs 1,000 for the Armoured Edition is justifiable. The only area where the standard and Armoured edition of Poco F1 differ is in the design. Given a choice between the two models, I don’t mind paying Rs 1,000 extra and get the Armoured Edition. Design is one of the weaker areas of the Poco F1 — think about that polycarbonate body — and the Poco F1 Armoured Edition somewhat fixes it. It’s not metal or glass but the kevlar finish should help the phone look better than the vanilla version.Overall, the carbon fibre finish makes the Poco F1 Armoured Edition look classy and also adds to its style quotient. Also, who doesn’t what to get a better-looking phone at Rs 1,000 extra? Everyone will. So if you’re looking to by a powerful phone at affordable price and design is also something that’s crucial to you, Poco F1 Armoured Edition is the one for you.advertisementApart from the looks, the Kevlar finish also makes the Poco F1 Armoured Edition a better phone because it will handle the wear and tear of the daily use in a better way. The back panel of the Poco F1 Armoured Edition is made of DuPont Kevlar, which not only makes the phone durable but also ensures that it deals with scratches and drops better. The Kevlar finish also gives the back of the phone matte touch which makes it look classy. Essentially, in the Poco F1 Armoured Edition 6GB/128GB you are getting the same Poco F1 Armoured Edition 8GB/256GB that Xiaomi had launched at a price of Rs 28,999 — now available for Rs 27,999 after price cut — a few months ago but at a lower price. The difference is in the RAM and storage. The one now launched at a price of Rs 23,999 comes with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage instead of 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. But it’s cheaper by Rs 7,000 and that makes it a pretty neat deal.Xiaomi Poco F1 India price and specsEver since its launch the Poco F1 has been in the news and it’s mainly because of the powerful chipset that powers the phone.
