Smith had the college football world in an uproar for what he said about former Ohio State quarterback Dwayne Haskins.Haskins, one of the most-prolific passers in the history of the Buckeyes’ program, was discussed by Smith on ESPN’s First Take on Friday.Smith called Haskins more of a “runner” than a “thrower.”“Haskins is bigtime. I know this. And I’m not saying he CAN’T pass. But I view him the way I view him. Just an eye-test thing. Im not talking statistically. Make of it what you will,” Smith added on Twitter.“I know Haskins is a baller. That he threw for 50 TD’s last year. But I view his athleticism as more of a plus (I.e. scrambling outside the pocket, etc.) I don’t view him as an ideal pocket passer, nor the runner than Kyler is. Period!”Smith is getting destroyed on Twitter for his “opinion.”Noted college football analyst Joel Klatt joined in:“If you watch ONE series of Ohio State Football from 2018 you cannot come to this conclusion…ONE…complete FAIL…Total trash take,” he said.If you watch ONE series of Ohio State Football from 2018 you cannot come to this conclusion…ONE…complete FAIL…Total trash take https://t.co/H4fbLhcXZp— Joel Klatt (@joelklatt) February 9, 2019Well put, Joel.last_img
