But we will keep doing it our way and hopefully we have more successful afternoons than not.“It’s full focus on Tottenham. Looking towards picking some points up and then another international break, which is more time to learn the philosophy and get it right.“It is a constant learning curve. Obviously, opponents we come up against are different every week and there are different ways of trying to break them down and get possession of the ball and control the game.”

Atletico Madrid moved to within two points of LaLiga leaders Barcelona after a comfortable 3-0 win over bottom club Huesca on Saturday.Full-backs Lucas Hernandez and Santiago Arias put Atletico in control before Koke ensured Atletico extended their unbeaten run in the league to 17 games.Huesca threatened early on at El Alcoraz through the lively Cucho Hernandez, but finding a way through proved a step too far, Jan Oblak impressing once again in the Atletico goal. Lucas’ first goal of the season put Atleti ahead and Arias doubled their lead before Koke sealed the points on a foggy night in northern Spain, keeping Diego Simeone’s men firmly in title contention.Atleti started the better, but were lucky not to be behind in the 12th minute as Jorge Pulido’s acrobatic volley beat Oblak only to thud into the post.It was a warning Atleti failed to heed and four minutes later an Enric Gallego’s flick released Cucho. The Colombian forward tried to round Oblak, but the goalkeeper stayed on his feet and was able to get fingertips to the teenager’s low effort.Having survived two scares, Atleti should have taken the lead moments later when Lemar latched onto Angel Correa’s pass, but he fired straight at Roberto Santamaria when one-on-one.Lucas made no mistake just after the half hour, though, as he tapped home at the back post after Lemar and Koke had unlocked the Huesca defence.31′ | 0-1 | GAAAALLLL! Pressure applied on BarcaAfter their Copa del Rey exit on Wednesday, Simeone hoped his side could use it as a positive and focus on the league. Saturday’s win shows they are ready to push Barca all the way and go the distance this season.Impressive Arias opens Atleti accountBattling with Juanfran for the right-back spot at Atletico has seen Arias only start 10 league games since moving from PSV. His all-action performance on Saturday will have given Simeone plenty to think about, his first goal for the club capping off a fine display.Cucho’s misses prove costlyCucho was lively in attack for the strugglers, but his quality in the final third was lacking, the on-loan Watford forward twice failing to beat Oblak. His first attempt saw Oblak stay big, while a free header late in the first half was straight at Atletico’s keeper.Key Opta Facts- Atletico have not lost any of their last 17 LaLiga matches (W10 D7), their second best unbeaten run in the competition under Diego Simeone (20 games between May and December 2017). – Only Antoine Griezmann (15) has scored more goals for Atletico than Koke (five) this season in all competitions. – Atletico have kept more clean sheets than any other side in LaLiga this season (10). Arsenal have contacted Paris Saint-Germain regarding a possible transfer for midfielder Christopher Nkunku, according to the player’s agent. The 21-year-old has emerged as a primary transfer target for the Gunners over the last week, as Arsenal boss Unai Emery aims to bolster his current squad. The Spaniard has stated that Arsenal are only exploring the possibility of loan deals this month, with the option to buy at the end of the season. Nkunku has been touted as Aaron Ramsey’s potential successor at Emirates Stadium, with the Welshman set to leave the club this summer.Nkunku’s agent Jose-Karl Pierre-Fanfan confirmed the rumours of a possible departure for the midfielder and he revealed that Arsenal have already made contact with PSG to discuss a possible deal.”I am here [in the studio] which is not a good sign,” Fanfan told Canal +. “There is a real interest from Arsenal for Nkunku, but the discussions are quite complicated. There are restrictions from Arsenal’s side, they cannot do a transfer in the middle of the season.”It is still being discussed with PSG, things could still happen in the next 48 hours, but as I said, the fact that I am here means that it does not look good.“His situation will be evaluated in June, then he will have just one year left on his contract, and his situation will need to be evaluated.“He is a young boy, who needs to play, enjoy himself, and to sign up for a project for the long term, that is what he is looking for, and he was in that phase with Arsenal but it looks complicated. If we have to wait, then he is ready to do that, he will wait.”Nkunku has featured in 15 matches for PSG across all competitions this term, contributing one goal and one assist. At the moment he is not guaranteed regular football under head coach Thomas Tuchel, with several top stars ahead of him in the pecking order at the Parc Des Princes. The winter transfer window will close on Thursday, which means Arsenal do not have much time to push the deal over the line, especially given the fact they are also trying to wrap up the loan signing of Denis Suarez from Barcelona.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like everyone was in the mood to celebrate the Cubs’ World Series victory on Wednesday night. The Cubs knocked off the Indians in a wild Game 7 on Wednesday night, and apparently, it led to an unfortunate altercation between fans of the two teams. We don’t have a ton of background here, but in the below video, posted just minutes after Chicago prevailed, an Indians supporters knocks out a Cubs supporter with one punch. Clearly, there was some kind of verbal altercation that led to the standoff. It’s pretty scary, to be honest:@WORLDSTAR pic.twitter.com/U1EgGFwXj2— Chris Vallimont (@Valli_Swag7) November 3, 2016Let’s hope the Cubs fan is alright – because he appears to have been knocked out cold. Expect to hear more about this in the coming days.

(Photo by Grant Halverson/Getty Images)Notre Dame will take on Syracuse this weekend at Yankee Stadium. The Fighting Irish should have their starting quarterback available for the game.Ian Book missed last Saturday’s win over Florida State with a rib injury. Brandon Wimbush, who began the year as the starter before being replaced in Week 4, filled in and threw three touchdown passes. It looks like Book is good to go for this week though. He also has 218 rushing yards and four touchdowns.Notre Dame and Syracuse will kick off at 2:30 p.m. ET Saturday on NBC. SYRACUSE, NY – SEPTEMBER 22: Eric Dungey #2 of the Syracuse Orange passes the ball against the Connecticut Huskies during the fourth quarter at the Carrier Dome on September 22, 2018 in Syracuse, New York. Syracuse defeated Connecticut 51-21. (Photo by Rich Barnes/Getty Images)For the first time since 2001, Syracuse football has eclipsed eight wins. With a rivalry day win at Boston College, the Orange are 9-3 in the regular season.Syracuse star senior quarterback Eric Dungey had a magnificent day against a tough Eagles defense. After leaving the Notre Dame loss early with what looked like a nasty back issue, Dungey surprised many by getting the start today. He made it count, throwing for 363 yards and three touchdowns, and punching in another three scores on the ground. He was aided by senior running back Dontae Strickland, who had one of his best games in Orange, going for 129 on the ground in the 42-21 win. There goes that man. pic.twitter.com/HitAS52lnt— Syracuse Football (@CuseFootball) November 24, 2018Syracuse football’s bowl outlook is still a bit up in the air, with a few other key ACC games being played as of this writing.A loss at Boston College would have made SU more or less a lock to send Syracuse to a third Pinstripe Bowl, and a second trip to Yankee Stadium this year, after last weekend’s Notre Dame Shamrock Series game. The win makes things more interesting.Because the Orange Bowl is a College Football Playoff semifinal this season, the bowl situation for the ACC is a bit weird. Had SU finished Top 12 in the College Football Playoff rankings, the Peach Bowl would likely be the spot, but at No. 20 this week, they’ll probably be a bit outside. That makes the Camping World Bowl in Orlando the most likely destination. Heading into the week, that was a popular choice in various bowl projections. Both ESPN analysts have Syracuse heading to Orlando. Kyle Bonagura has SU against West Virginia, while Mitch Sherman has them facing Iowa State.247Sports has the same ISU match-up. Bleacher Report has Syracuse taking on the Texas Longhorns, though Tom Herman’s team can vault itself into the New Year’s Six if it beats Oklahoma for the second time this year, in the Big 12 Championship Game.Other projections from earlier in the week were heavy on the Pinstripe Bowl, with potential games against Purdue, Michigan State, and other mid-tier Big Ten squads. That would be much more likely with a loss by the Orange today, but remains in play, as the bowl would love to bring in a team with a huge local alumni base like SU.The Music City Bowl and Sun Bowl are also options, but seem less likely. However, with the ACC being a mess in the middle, and teams like NC State and Pitt still playing, there is still some stuff that needs to be sorted out.
